01
What is sponsored content?
Sponsored content is articles, guides, or reviews created in partnership with a brand, hotel, tour operator, or company that has paid Paris Labyrinths for promotion or coverage.
Different from affiliate content: While affiliate content is our genuine recommendation (we earn commission if you buy), sponsored content is explicitly paid for by the partner.
Always disclosed: Sponsored content is clearly marked so you know the relationship.
02
How we mark sponsored content
Sponsored articles are clearly labeled with:
– 🤝 Sponsored Post badge at the top
– [AD] or [Sponsored] prefix
– Disclaimer below headline
– Sponsor name clearly mentioned
Example disclosure: “This article is sponsored by [Hotel Name]. Paris Labyrinths received payment for this feature.”
03
Editorial independence maintained
Note
Sponsorships do NOT influence editorial standards. Paris Labyrinths maintains complete editorial independence even when accepting sponsorships.
What this means:
– Member access to free content is never restricted
– Sponsored content is optional reading, never required
– We don’t compromise content quality for sponsors
– Negative aspects are still mentioned if relevant
– Sponsorships don’t affect other article recommendations
04
Sponsor vetting and approval
We only accept sponsorships from brands and services that:
– Align with Paris Labyrinths values and audience
– Provide genuine value to our members
– Meet quality and safety standards
– Are relevant to Paris travel and experiences
– Have legitimate business operations
– Don’t promote illegal or harmful services
We reserve the right to refuse any sponsorship that doesn’t meet these criteria, regardless of payment offered.
05
Types of sponsorships
Sponsored articles: Feature stories about a hotel, restaurant, or tour operator.
Sponsored guides: Neighborhood guides or themed travel guides with sponsor spotlight.
Product placements: Travel products or services mentioned in partnership content.
Exclusive experiences: Member-exclusive deals or events with sponsored partners.
What we DON’T do: Native advertising that deceives, clickbait sponsorships, or undisclosed paid content.
06
Sponsored vs. regular content
Regular content (no marking): Our genuine, unpaid recommendations. No sponsor involved. Most content falls here.
Affiliate content ([affiliate] marking): Our recommendations where we earn commission if you purchase. No sponsorship.
Sponsored content (🤝 [AD] marking): Paid partnership explicitly disclosed. Sponsor compensation clearly stated.
How to filter: Members can filter or hide sponsored content in preferences if they prefer unsponsored content only.
07
Sponsorship and member trust
We take sponsorships seriously because we value your trust.
Sponsorships help fund quality content creation, but not at the expense of honesty. We will:
– Always disclose sponsorships clearly and prominently
– Maintain our usual editorial standards for sponsored content
– Never publish false or misleading information for sponsors
– Include honest assessment even in sponsored features
– Never hide negative aspects to protect a sponsor
